Thinking ahead to 2012 goals

In 2012, I would like to be able to:

1. Complete a 5k. I'm planning on doing one in March.
2. Do a pull-up.
3. Do a split.
4. Find a way to eat somewhat less haphazardly - plan more, go nuts less.
5. At the very least, every day go for a walk or ride the bike to nowhere.

I have a few challenges, though. I have to be at work too early to do anything in the morning, and I'm starting a second job 3x week that will give me 3 10-hour days. Feeding myself during the day and getting food-prep made easy those days is going to be super important. Otherwise, I know I'll stop at the store on the way home and shove a candy bar down my face.

So, I'd need to make sure that I can get a good breakfast (that can be eaten in about 10 minutes at 7:20 a.m.), split lunch into a meal for my lunch break (I usually get to sit down with my food around 11:45), have a healthy snack I can eat in the car from Job A to Job B (2:30ish), and a dinner that won't be too hard to put together when I get home so I can be eating by 7.

Also, this presents an interesting challenge in that I need to find the time to exercise.

Trying again

Yesterday I did the first day of Couch to 5K again. It was stupid hot out, but I still really liked getting out there.

Today, I tried Al Kavadlo's zero equipment workout and wussed out halfway through.

C25K

W1D1 done. Feet hurt. Lungs are remarkably ok. Inhaler seems to work.

New week, new resolve

Yesterday, I went with the man on a long walk around the city - we went about four miles.

Right now, I'm sitting on my chair waiting ten minutes so I can see if my new inhaler helps any with running. I'm pretty much planning on doing the first day of Couch to 5k and seeing what happens.

I've been sitting in uncomfortable chairs all day long, and now I am fidgety. Plus, it's beautiful outside!

I fell off the wagon

And my health is not happy about it.

I need to make some changes, and having a place to post about what I was up to helped.

So. Here are my goals:

1. Do some sort of resistance training twice a week.
2. Do some sort of aerobic exercise - enough to make me sweat - three times a week.
3. Give those moisture-wicking t-shirts I bought a real road test.

I have no excuse now - as now I have an inhaler which will make breathing during exercise a ton easier. I'm sick of waking up all stiff for no good reason - bring back the good pain!
